Seton Falls Park Preservation Coalition Tree Lighting

Seton Falls Park Preservation Coalition and the Baychester Quality of Life Council presented a tree lighting event on Mon, Dec 2 in Seton Falls Park at Baychester and Crawford Aves.

Over 60 people gathered for the festivities.

Accompanied by two guitarists, elementary students of Seton Falls Park School, P.S. 111 sang Christmas carols.

Decorations were hand made by students in honor of the late Christine Forman. Ms. Forman founded the Coalition in 1992.

Supporters Assemblyman Carl Heastie, Councilman Andy King, Toba LaCrown, Community Board 9 Parks Committee Chairperson and Donielle Lee and Anthony Martinez from Partnership for Parks also attended the ceremony.

President of the Coalition, Renee Patterson, was delighted to see so many neighbors and families gathered at the park at that evening.

The celebration ended with U.S.A. Dojo’s martial arts demonstration. The group, led by Robert Rivers, was comprised of students from M.S. 142.

Seton Falls Park is over 30 acres of preserved natural land. The Coalition’s mission is to restore and conserve the wetland wildlife habitat and educate locals through workshops. Volunteer opportunities and community events are held year round.
