Treecycle at MulchFest on January 11 and 12, 2014!
On Saturday, January 11th and Sunday, January 12th, NYC Parks will host the annual MulchFest from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day at locations citywide. Bring your holiday tree to one of over 80 designated parks to be recycled into mulch that will nourish plantings across the city or your own garden!
This year, be one of thousands of New York households to help the environment and the community by bringing your tree to our nearest collection site. There will be 36 chipping sites and 45 drop-off sites throughout the five boroughs. And this year, you canbring your tree to a drop-off site starting Saturday, January 4th, through the 12th.
It’s easier than ever!
Remember to remove all lights and decorations before bringing your tree to one of our designated sites.
Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the free mulch available at each chipping site. Free mulch collection bags are provided for your convenience.
For more information about MulchFest and a list of sites in your borough, visit www.nyc.gov and search for “MulchFest.” MulchFest is supported this year by Whole Foods to increase the number of trees collected.
Treecycle and help NYC grow!

Or you can bring your tree to a drop-off site from Saturday, January 4 through Sunday, January 12. Leave your tree with us, and we’ll recycle it for you later! The NYC Department of Sanitation will also be conducting special curbside collections for mulching and recycling of Christmas trees from Monday, December 30, 2013 through Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
