Teachers at the Saint Catherine’s Acedemy high school on Williamsbridge Road have been picketing each morning this week for increased salaries .
They are threatening to strike unless a deal is reached with the school’s Board of Trustees. Current contract negotiations have failed to reach an agreement between the faculty association and the Board of Trustees.
When reached for comment, the President, Sister Patricia Wolf, sent the Bronx Chronicle this statement:
“Our primary focus is on the on-going education of our students. School continues as usual. We have great respect for the important work of our teachers in educating our students. We are committed to reaching a financially sustainable agreement with the faculty and are optimistic that a settlement will be achieved.”
