Nine Still Stuck in South African Mine

A fire began on Tuesday evening at 5,600ft below ground at a South African mine, leading to seventeen miners trapped underground.  Eight have since been recovered.

“Efforts continue to establish the whereabouts of a further nine employees who are currently unaccounted for,” spokesman James Duncan told the BBC.
