Brooklyn Pols Dance Dance Dance For Charity

While we Bronxites may have seen Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. bust a move or two at some of the lively cultural events sponsored by his office, and others have seen Assemblyman Jose Rivera dancing salsa in any number of venues, there has never been an organized dance contest in the Bronx with solely elected officials.  Not in Brooklyn though! (And yes, Bronx Chronicle is suggesting our pols get their merengue on for a good cause.)

The Brooklyn Paper is reporting that Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez (D–Bushwick) and Councilman Carlos Menchaca (D–Sunset Park) will face off against Deputy Borough President Diana Reyna and Councilman Antonio Reynoso (D–Bushwick) tonight in a dance contest at Giando, a Brooklyn restaurant, along with other teams, to raise funds for the School Settlement Association community center.

So calling on all elect-eds! Let’s make this happen here in The Bronx.  Here’s looking at you Assemblyman Rivera.

As reported earlier today in the Chronicle, at least one of our borough pols seemingly had a more quiet night last evening here on the mainland.
