Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted the borough’s official Dominican Heritage Celebration Wednesday at the Grand Slam Foundation in celebration of Dominican culture. Borough President Diaz honored leaders from the Dominican Republic at the East Tremont eatery who have contributed to the growth and cultural richness of the borough.
The honorees included State Senator Hon. Adriano Espaillat, local business owner Manuel Lebron, and Supreme Court Justice Hon. Julia Rodriguez. A proclamation was also presented to the Honorable Luis Lithgow, Consul General at the Dominican Republic consulate in the city.
