As part of the “Celebrate Black History” event hosted by US Congressman Jose E. Serrano and NY Senator Jose M. Serrano, three outstanding Honorees were presented with awards.

The event, held earlier today at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, drew over 100 people.

The program began with a powerful spoken word piece by Mr. Lyn Robinson. Following was an outstanding musical performance by the Renaissance Youth Center Choir and words by keynote speaker Councilwomen Vanessa Gibson.

This year’s Honorees were Kellie Terry, O’Cynthia Williams and Bernel Arthur Richardson. Each have made invaluable contributions. Their dedication and outstanding service to the community were inspiring, and their humility was unparalleled.

On behalf of the staff of the Bronx Chronicles, we salute the Honorees for their dedication and tireless efforts to transform the Bronx.
