Councilman James Vacca saw his member dollars being put to good work Wednesday at P.S. 108 Philip J. Abinanti School in Morris Park, stopping by to see the Inside Broadway program in action.
“These kids put on such a great show that I almost thought I was on Broadway!” said Vacca.
Inside Broadway, funded by the Council’s C.A.S.A (Cultural After-School Adventures) Initiative, is bringing the magic of Broadway hundreds of city public school students this winter and spring at 18 different schools in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. Participants meet twice a week after school to create their own original musical and be exposed in general to theater, music, and the arts.
