As St. Patrick’s Day Mass is being held at St. Benedict’s in Throggs Neck and Holi Phagwah will makes its presence on the streets of Parkchester today, the Garifuna community joins Irish Catholics and Hindus this weekend with annual religious heritage celebrations, including the 6th Annual Joseph Chatoyer Memorial Mass presented by the Garifuna Pastoral of St Anthony of Padua Church (photo above) in Morrisania. It will take place at 1 p.m and is celebrated during Garifuna Heritage Month in memory of the 219th Anniversary of the death of the Paramount Garifuna Chief Joseph Chatoyer.
