Councilwoman Mark-Viverito Invites Constituents To Vote This Week In Participatory Budgeting 2014

This week, the city’s third annual Participatory Budget Elections will take place in some city districts, including Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito’s South Bronx/East Harlem District.  This process allows community members to decide on how to spend over $1 million on projects that directly impact their community.  This year’s projects include technology upgrades for schools, park and playground renovations, and improvement to senior centers. Constituents can choose from a total of 17 projects on the ballot from which to indicate a preference.

Now through Sunday, April 6, 2014, anyone living in District 8 can cast a ballot. The main voting sitesfor Bronxites:
