Conversations with our publisher has lead us here at The Bronx Chronicle to make a little public service announcement in light of tragic recent events. Earlier this week, a man died while “train surfing”, riding on the 6 train between Whitlock and Elder Avenue stations, when his head hit something. Because that’s the sort of thing that happens when you climb on a train. “But no one I know is fill in the blank enough to do such a thing.” Well, talk to our publisher, who is worried about teenagers and peer pressure, though the incident involved a man in his 40s. And I realized, we all did fill in the blank things when we were young, things we would regret or say, how the heck could I do something so fill in the blank? So if you know a great young man or young lady who is great but can be a “knucklehead” some times (we all are!), just mention about being safe and not doing something fill in the blank pranks and stunts, and a momentary laugh from a peer could lead to tragic lifelong ramifications. (Note: Moronic, idiotic, stupid….words I choose to use a little as possible.)
