2nd Annual Bronx Day In Albany
“Experience The Best Of The Bronx”
Hundreds were in attendance as Bronx Leaders, Community Members and Business Owners took to Albany a taste of the borough as the Bronx’s Centennial Birthday was celebrated, Local Businesses were honored and the best that our diverse community has to offer was showcased!
The entire day included several eye catching and educational opportunities which started off with a warm welcome by New York State Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj, NYS Senator Jeff Klein, and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. followed by a luncheon, meet and greet with sponsors, a tour of the Capitol and Egg Building. Visits were made to the Senate and Assembly Chambers while they were in session and networking with businesses, restaurants and cultural institutions carried on throughout the evening in the Empire State Plaza, The Egg Hart Theater Lounge.
With a packed program made possible by each Sponsor, the Office of Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj and the Marketing & Advertising Solutions Team lead by Jacqueline Acevedo-Villanueva everyone in attendance shared pride of being from the Bronx as Rhina Valentin, BronxNet’s “Open” Television Host introduced several items on the program including Justnuts, the Ultimate Party/Dance Band, The Bronx Wanderers and special guest appearance by Bharati Kemraj, Founder and Dance Choreographer of the Bharati Dance Academy for a Bollywood Dance Performance.
The thought that Assemblyman Gjonaj had of having Bronx Day in Albany became reality in 2013 and once again community got together to celebrate with great pride! The commute and bus ride to and from Albany was well spent and new relationships were formed all around. From here on, everyone is looking forward for the years to come…
