The Transportation Alternatives Bronx Activist Committee transformed the center lanes of the Grand Concourse into a vibrant public space for recreation and community gathering. Boogie on the Boulevard, today.

The event is meant to inspire Bronx residents to rethink their public spaces and their transportation choices. Free from car traffic, the Concourse will become a place to play, walk, relax, socialize and ride bikes. Boogie on the Boulevard  connected diverse communities along the Grand Concourse today, allowing families to socialize along one of the borough’s largest public spaces.

Dozens of diverse cultural and community partners came together to use the street to present engaging programming including art-making, music, bicycle clinics and public health services. As a part of the Department of Transportation’s Weekend Walks program, Boogie on the Boulevard is currently scheduled to take place on the Grand Concourse between 165th and 167th Streets on two additional Sundays: August 10th and 17th. Check it out next week if you missed it today!
