Finding Hope In Difficult Times: Just One Bronx Story

This summer has, unfortunately for many, been a summer of loss.  The world feels “on fire”, as I imagine the Bronx felt during those hot summers almost forty years ago, with great baseball and a terrifying murderer on the loose and all.  But with favorite celebrities dying, innocents’ lives snuffed out too early by those tasked with protecting us, and warring across the world that hits close to home for many Bronxites, from the Holocaust survivor to the veteran to the alums of the struggle for civil rights, who are still struggling.  But then there are the more individual, personal losses.  Many in Bronx political circles were heartbroken to hear of the loss of Leilah Hope Zaccaro, the infant daughter of Bronx Young Democrats leader John Zaccaro, a staffer for Councilman Fernando Cabrera.  John is a man of faith, as is his wife, who have bravely put together a video to try to instill hope in others, explaining their experience the past few weeks, and the joy they received as parents.  And we can all agree that faith is about joy conquering pain, no? So have a watch.  Be inspired.
