MillionTreesNYC/NYC Parks Fall Street Tree Planting Notification

The NYC Parks street tree planting program is part of a citywide initiative to green the streets of New York City.  Through MillionTreesNYC and the City’s PlaNYC initiative, over 900,000 trees have been planted in city sidewalks and parklands with the help of thousands of volunteers, community groups and businesses. Starting this October, NYC Parks will once again be working with local contractors to plant street trees in communities throughout New York City per individual requests from residents and prioritization through our block planting program with the goal of increasing tree canopy within the public right-of-way.

We are reaching out to you to provide a list of addresses in front of which street tree planting is scheduled during the fall planting season, which runs from October 15 to January 31 (weather permitting) so you can better address street tree planting inquiries on behalf of neighborhood residents. Please keep in mind:

  • This site list is pending assessment of underlying utilities and pending inclement weather which can prevent planting. There is no guarantee that every site on the list will be planted this fall season or that they will necessarily be planted at all.
  • This is a tentative list subject to change. Since street tree plantings occur on the public right-of-way, nearby homeowners may not reject planting at any such location.
  • Repeat addresses indicate that Parks intends to plant multiple trees adjacent to a single address.

The list of addresses can be found on this page within the MillionTreesNYC domain: http://www.milliontreesnyc.org/html/plant/request.shtml.
