It’s that time of year again to visit the Bronx YMCA. As you may know, the Y does not turn needy children away. The Y’s signature piece is their Annual Bon Appetit Fundraiser/Restaurant Tasting Program. The event is on the menu for Wednesday, September 10, 2014, from 6pm to 9pm, at2 Castle Hill Ave, Bronx, NY. This event is to raise funds for families who otherwise could not afford the wonderful services the Y provides, such as after school services, day camp, and teen programs/activities, to name a few..
Over 30 Restaurants participate so you may enjoy delicious food, cocktails and good camaraderie with new/old friends (all under one roof for a fraction of the cost).
I currently serve as the Chairman of the Y’s Board of Managers and am also in the Planning Committee. My wife, Lisa, has been part of the Planning Committee for many years and tends the bar (shhh drinks for you are on the house). My two sons, Miguel and Cristian, volunteer their clean up expertise. This family effort is a lot of fun and very rewarding. The Master of Ceremonies for this delicious event is Gary Axelbank, Host BronxTalk and Director of Sports Information, Monroe College.
