October After School Junior Golf Program
Every Wednesday: October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 5:00-6:00 pm
Turtle Cove Golf Center

Join in the new after school junior golf clinic for boys and girls, 9-16 years old. Learn grip, posture, alignment, chipping, pitching, full swing, basic rules, etiquette, and sportsmanship. Cemetary Walk + Ghost Stories

Take a guided, candlelit walk to the Pell Cemetery followed by a delightfully spooky staged reading of ghost stories by the City Island Theater Group in the double parlors of the mansion. The Rangers will be your guide to the wonders of the solar system, discussing the science, history, and folklore of the universe. What if you were lost in the woods? Do you know how to build a shelter or start a fire without matches? What would you eat and where would you find water? The Rangers are skilled in the techniques of wilderness survival and emergency preparedness. Learn tips and tricks that will enhance your knowledge of the natural world, and just might save your life.  Programs are family-friendly, but are recommended for ages 8 and older.  Hands-on activities take place in an outdoor setting, so dress appropriately for cold weather. Hiking is the ultimate way to enjoy the outdoors and reduce stress. Join the Rangers for a hike and burn calories and stay fit! This program is designated as “moderate,” which means it is longer and faster-paced than a leisurely stroll. Also, it takes place on rugged terrain, not on paved paths. Owls, deer, coyotes and raccoons are among the many animals that call Pelham Bay Park home. Join the Rangers for this rare winter night hike. Participants will be chosen by lottery.
