Senator Klein & Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. join Bronx Chamber of Commerce to launch Bronx HIRE Survivor Program for Victims of Domestic Violence

Hutchinson Metro Center to be lit Purple starting Wednesday in honor of  Domestic Violence Awareness Month

                                  

 

 

BRONX, NY – State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) will be joined by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. as well as members of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce to announce the launch of the Bronx H.I.R.E. Survivor’s Program at the Hutchinson Metro Center. The program is aimed at helping victims of domestic violence gain financial independence and freedom. In addition the Hutchinson Metro Center will be lit in purple to commemorate the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

WHAT: Announcement of Bronx H.I.R.E Domestic Violence Survivors Job Readiness and Internship Program – which will pair abuse victims with a comprehensive job training and certification program leading women on a path to real-life careers and financial independence. Women will be selected to participate in the launch of the Bronx H.I.R.E. Survivor’s Program from the non-profit organization – Violence Intervention Program (VIP).
