Tune In Tonight for BronxTalk’s 20th Anniversary Celebration

UPDATE FROM BRONXTALK: There’s been a post-production delay. The 20th Anniversary of BronxTalk will be shown in its entirety on Wednesday, October 29 at 9:00pm. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary of being on the air, BronxTalk hosted it’s 954th episode on October 22nd, which will be aired tonight, Monday October 27th, at 9:00PM on Bronxnet

Adding a switch to this week’s show, a live audience was treated to the best clips of previous shows and live interviews all taped at the Andrew Freedman Home. BronxTalk’s host, Gary Axelbank, has spent two decades discussing a wide-range of social issues, holding political debates, interviewing mayors and other politicians as well as giving exposure to Bronx artists.

Even though he could not be present for the 20th Anniversary show, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. awarded Gary Axelbank with a proclamation declaring October 22nd “BronxTalk Day”.

As the audience watched old clips roll, the footage showed time-lapsed changes in background, the set, clothes, and hairstyles (the last two inciting chuckles from viewers). But what did not change was Axelbank and BronxTalk’s quest to bring information and awareness of the Bronx community to the people of the Bronx.

A list of guests and topics for all of BronxTalk’s episodes since 1994 can be found here.

After the recap presentation, Axelbank spoke with Bronx community leaders about the importance of BronxTalk’s continued mission.

“Everyone keeps asking me what we are planning to do for next week’s show…we don’t have to think that far ahead, there is always something great going on in the Bronx that needs to be covered.” said Mr. Axelbank addressing the audience.

To see Bronxtalk’s 20th Anniversary episode, tune in tonight at 9 p.m. on Bronxnet, Cablevision’s channel 67 and Verizon Fios channel 33.
