Council Member Gibson Focuses on Youth and Education at “African Diaspora Resource Fair” Being Held Tomorrow

Highlighting the needs of immigrants from African who are living in her Bronx district, Council Member Vanessa L. Gibson (D-Bronx, 16th CD) is holding an “African Diaspora Resource Fair” tomorrow evening. Being held from 6:00 – 9:00pm at the Bronx Museum of the Arts (1040 Grand Concourse in the South Building) the event will be co-hosted by Gibson’s local African Leadership Council and is themed “Reclaiming Our Children Through Education”.

“Bringing resources together from a whole host of service providers, this valuable resource fair targets the rapidly growing population of the Bronx community who are African immigrants,” Gibson said. “This event goes beyond the headlines we have all been seeing in recent days and reaches out to the families that are here as they seek to overcome the cultural, social and economic challenges they face every day. This is about joining together to overcome the barriers that so many immigrants face and opening the doors of opportunity for people who come from a very special part of the world.”
