Serrano Honored Wildlife Conservation Society-Bronx Zoo Conference Reclaiming a River, Conservation and Community”

As part of the conference “Reclaiming a River, Conservation and Community” held on October 24, 2014 at the Bronx Zoo, Congressman José E. Serrano was honored at a special reception for his support of efforts to restore the Bronx and Harlem Rivers and his commitment to promoting a clean and healthy environment in the Bronx.  The event was hosted by the Wildlife Conservation Society, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Community Partners.

Congressman Serrano Honored by Urban Health Plan for 40 years of Public Service

On Thursday, October 24, 2014, Congressman José E. Serrano was honored by Urban Health Plan at their 40th Anniversary Gala “Crimson Ball” for his 40 years of public service. Urban Health Plan mission is to improve the health of underserved communities by providing affordable, comprehensive, and high quality medical care.

Serrano Co-Hosts Hunts Point Recreational Center Fall Book Fair

On Saturday October 25, 2014, Congressman José E. Serrano co-hosted the October Fall Book Fair at the Hunts Point Recreational Center.  Congressman Serrano joined parents and kids to celebrate reading, the fall season, and Halloween with fun fall activities like scarecrow making, storytelling, children’s games, raffles, and giveaways.

Serrano Attends Unveiling of the “Sister Thomas, S.C. Way”

On Saturday, October 25, 2014, Congressman José E. Serrano attended the unveiling of the “Sister Thomas, S.C. Way” to honor the life and legacy of legendary Bronx community leader Sister Thomas, S.C. Council Member Maria del Carmen Arroyo led the effort to rename the street “Sister Thomas, S.C. Way.”
