Bronx Campus Will Transform Into Winter Wonderland For Popular Yearly Event

Monroe College, a national leader in urban and international education, today announced that it will host its 26th annual Holiday Celebration on December 7, from 10:00 am to noon in King Hall at its Bronx campus. The event, which is open to Monroe students and their families, will provide children the opportunity to take pictures with Santa and his elves, in addition to receiving gifts.

Each year, Monroe transforms the entirety of its King Hall building into a Winter Wonderland filled with festive decorations – including lights, artificial snow and Christmas trees – baked goods, cookies and candy, as well as holiday cartoon characters who provide lively entertainment for children. Over 1,000 people are expected to attend, including Monroe College students, faculty and staff. Each child will receive a gift from Santa.

“We truly look forward to hosting the particularly special event each year for our students and faculty and, of course, their families, ” said Stephen Jerome, President of Monroe College. “It is absolutely heartwarming to see the delight on children’s faces as they pass through the spectacle of our Winter Wonderland and get caught up in the magic of the season. I know of no better way to ring in the season than to witness their sheer excitement at seeing Santa, receiving a gift, and taking pictures with him.”

The event is organized by Monroe College faculty and staff, who are committed to ensuring a festive, fun holiday celebration for students and their children.
