BP DIAZ ANNOUNCES NEW COMMUNICATIONS STAFF

The Office of Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. is announcing three new staff members in the communications department.

 

Wanda Silva, an Emmy Award winning television reporter, has joined the office of Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. as Press Secretary. Ms. Silva has been an on-air reporter  at Telemundo and Univision in several markets throughout the United States. She was most recently a reporter at Univision 41 NY, covering events important to the Hispanic community in the tri-state area. Ms. Silva brings her media experience and interest in serving the community to her new role. She’ll work closely with Borough President Diaz to help him spread his message of passion and excitement for The Bronx. Edwin Molina is the new Deputy Press Secretary. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Molina has earned a B.A. in Sociology from Boston University and a M.S. in Sports Management from Columbia University. Mr. Molina has worked for LatinPost.com, the Boston Herald, the Eliot Spitzer gubernatorial campaign and former New York City Comptroller’s William Thompson’s communications department. Bharati Sukul Kemraj is the office’s new Communications & Media Liaison. She graduated from Fordham University in 2006 with a B.A. in Communications and Media Studies. While working at BronxNet TV from 2005 to 2010, she covered local, national and international news, events and topics for live television shows and assisted in all areas of production. In 2012, Ms. Kemraj became Bronx Community Board 11’s first-ever community assistant. As former board member of Bronx Community Board #9, she became, in 2014, its Treasurer and Chairperson of the Youth & Education and Planning Committees. Ms. Kemraj has also worked as an Events Specialist at the Bronx Chamber of Commerce and the co-owner and publicist for EF Sports, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to elevating futures through sports, charity events and friendly competitions.
