New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer attended the launch of the first Services & Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders (SAGE) Center to open in the Bronx at a ribbon cutting that took place on Wednesday January 14th at Union Community Health Center, Bronx, NY.

“This launch is significant for our city – we are now a five borough provider of critical programs to improve the lives of the LGBT community of New York. This opening uplifts not only the LGBT community but every New Yorker – for when each population is uplifted it makes us all a stronger city and nation,” Stringer said.

In his remarks, the Comptroller made sure that attendees knew of the constituent services offered by his Community Action Center and also discussed his newly-revamped online and print editions of his LGBTQ directory of resources and services in New York City that connects the community to services geared towards the specific needs of this community.
