ATHENA SKEETER Skeeter is charged with 2nd Degree Murder and 1st and 2nd Degree Manslaughter for the August 22nd, 2014 death of 20- month- old Cardell Williamson. Skeeter, the child’s babysitter, is accused of lifting up the victim, throwing him to the floor and pressing on his stomach with her foot before placing him in a tub of scalding hot water. The child suffered post mortem burns and blunt force trauma to his head and torso and died as a result of his injuries.

JEANPAUL RODRIGUEZ-PUMAREJO Rodriguez-Pumarejo is charged with 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Manslaughter, and 4th Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon for the September 25th, 2014 death of his girlfriend, Tynasha Robinson. Rodriguez-Pumarejo is accused of stabbing his girlfriend in the neck with a knife and barricading himself in their Soundview apartment until hostage negotiators were able to gain entry and place him under arrest.

STEPHEN BOLT Bolt was convicted earlier this year of 2nd Degree Murder and 1st Degree Manslaughter for killing his girlfriend, Dawn Monaco. Bolt allegedly left her body in his Soundview apartment for several days and confessing to the killing on a repeated phone calls to 911 from pay phones.

MICHAEL FERGUSON Ferguson is to be sentenced for 1st Degree Attempted Rape and 1st Degree Sexual Abuse, for a 1993 incident in Parkchester during which he accosted a Fordham University student.  In 1994, the defendant failed to appear in court, evading capture for 20 years. He was found when an outstanding warrant popped up when he applied for a license in North Carolina and last fall he was returned to the Bronx and found guilty at a jury trial.

JOSE CRESPO Crespo is facing charges of 2nd Degree Murder and 1st Degree Manslaughter for the December 29th, 2014 strangulation death of his wife, Margarita Pagan. Crespo allegedly compressed Pagan’s neck, resulting in her death.

ANGEL CINTRON Cintron is to be sentenced following a guilty plea to 1st and 3rd Degree Robbery and 3rd Degree Attempted Sale of a Controlled Substance for the July to September 2012 robberies of several individuals, using a hypodermic needle. Cintron approached the eight complainants, all of whom were strangers, by asking them about disputes they had with people known to him. Cintron threatened the victims with the hypodermic needle while stealing their personal property.

Possible Sentencing

 

OCTAVIO RIVERA Rivera faces up to 25 years to life behind bars following a conviction at trial for 1st Degree Assault for the August 2012 knife attack that seriously wounded Walter Romaine, in a dispute over drugs and money.  Because this is Rivera’s sixth violent felony, BXDA will move to have him sentenced at a higher level, under provisions of the NYS Penal Law.  Romaine and fellow crack abuser Flossey Samuels entered drug rehabilitation programs and have since made remarkable turn-arounds in their lives.
