New Survey Gauges Most-Pressing Financial Issues Facing NY Seniors

RIVERDALE, NY – Senate Independent Democratic Conference (IDC) Leader State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester), joined by Assemblyman Jeff Dinowitz (D-Bronx), kicked off a month-long tour of Bronx senior centers today at the Riverdale Y Senior Center and JASA Van Cortlandt Senior Center to hear from local seniors about their most-pressing issues of financial concern.

Together, Klein and Dinowitz met with seniors and discussed the IDC’s new Senior Affordability Survey — www.IDCInvestNY.com.

The 2015 Invest New York Senior Agenda is a comprehensive, six-point plan aimed at making New York affordable for those living out their golden years. Highlights include the creation of a Senior Housing Development Fund, expansion of Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORC) Program, instituting a Department of Motor Vehicles Discount and creating a new statewide Utility Consumer Advocate.
