Police are searching for a man who allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl in West Farms.
Investigators have released surveillance video and asks the public for help in identifying the suspect.

According to NYPD, the young girl was grabbed as she was walking on the corner of East Tremont Avenue and Southern Boulevard around 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24th. The suspected threatened the victim, telling her if she screamed he would kill her. The suspect is believed to be in his early to mid-teens. He’s dark-skinned and about 5 feet 2 inches tall.
The suspect then dragged the victim to 901 East 179th Street near Honey Well Avenue to try to get into the building but it was locked. He then forced the victim to 915 East 179th Street but was unable to get into that building as well. The suspect then forced her into an alleyway on the side of 2064 Daly Avenue, near 179th Street, and raped her, NYPD officials said.
The victim fled with the suspect running in the opposite direction, according to police.
