Haile Rivera Joins Faith In New York Team

Faith in New York (FINY) recently announced via email the hiring of its new Bronx Lead Organizer, Haile Rivera. Haile brings a wealth of experience in both non-profit service and advocacy worlds and will help further develop Faith in New York’s organizing in the Bronx. He is a resident of the Bronx and has been deeply involved in creating congregation-based service programs throughout the borough. Haile grew up attending PICO meetings in Philadelphia where his mother was an active and strong leader.

Founded in 2013, Faith in New York is a growing interfaith, multicultural federation of 70 congregations representing 70,000 families in Queens, Brooklyn, Harlem, and The Bronx. Faith in New York’s mission is to develop grassroots leaders and equip congregations to move significant public policy change.  FINY leaders envision a more just New York with excellent public schools, violence-free neighborhoods, access to good jobs, adequate and affordable health care, decent housing for all, and a place where people of all backgrounds and faiths can fully participate in economic and civic life.

In an email, the leadership at Faith in New York said that they “are excited to have Haile join our team and bring his considerable experience to help FINY grow in the Bronx.”

Bronx faith leaders are urged to contact Mr. Rivera at haile@faithinnewyork.org.
