STATEMENT OF BRONX D.A. ROBERT JOHNSON
RE LASER STRIKE SUSPECT
ELEHECER BALAGUER
(Bronx, NY – March 13, 2015) — In light of the second suspect who has come forward in the March 9th, 2015 laser incident regarding multiple commercial and law enforcement aircraft, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office has conducted extensive interviews with Elehecer Balaguer.
Statement from Bronx D.A. Robert Johnson: “This is a serious matter. This office has been investigating this crime along with representatives of the Federal government and has decided to defer the matter to the authorities in the Southern District of New York. It is our belief that, by doing so, we can achieve the best outcome for this prosecution.”
Balaguer will be pleading guilty tonight to disorderly conduct, in satisfaction of the Desk Appearance Ticket that is pending against him for a marijuana charge.
