It is with great sadness that The Bronx Chronicle staff announce the passing of our former managing editor, Joseph Oddo.
Joseph Oddo was a good friend of our owner and publisher, Sal Conforto.
“I am truly saddened by the death of my friend, Joe Oddo. He was a selfless community leader who only wanted the best for beloved neighborhood. He will be missed by all.”
In a statement, Senator Jeff Klein wrote, “I learned of the passing of a dedicated community leader and a great friend to myself and my office – Joseph Oddo. His sudden death makes me appreciate even more the intensity by which he lived life and his desire to see great things happen to the Pelham Bay community and the Bronx. He never stopped thinking and he never stopped caring, his fighting spirit and deep passion for life shone brightly through in everything he did. The thoughts and prayers of my office go out to his family and the community that loved him – thank you for all you did Joe – we will miss you.”
