The victim is currently unable to see and suffers from brain damage, but has regained the ability to breathe on her own. | |

Rikers Island Captain Simancas and Correction Officers Wint and Jackson are charged with Attempted Assault 1, Falsifying Business Records and other crimes for the post-Superstorm Sandy abuse of a confined inmate. The men allegedly handcuffed the inmate in his cell, took him out into the vestibule of the facility and repeatedly struck him with their feet, fists and batons, rendering him unconscious. The inmates were held in their cells for an extended period of time due to the storm and a shortage of staff. |

ANDREW SCOTT | Found guilty of Murder 2 and Robbery 1, Scott will be sentenced to 25-years-to-life behind bars for the October 1st, 2013 gruesome murders of his ex-girlfriend, Jana Randolph and her mother Ida Randolph. Scott lived with the victims before he was kicked out by the elder Randolph for his bad behavior. Seeking revenge, Scott hatched a plan to rob and kill the complainants. With the help of two accomplices, Scott entered the Randolph’s apartment, duct taped the women, stole their credit cards and pin numbers, and bludgeoned and stabbed both victims to death.

Canturencia is accused of stabbing his wife multiple times with two knives at the couple’s Walton Avenue apartment while in the presence of Hernandez’s two daughters, one of whom was also stabbed in the abdomen. |
