The Committee for Effective Leadership recently announced that Public Advocate Leticia *Tish* James will be the keynote speaker at its annual event on April 26.  Other elected officials expected to attend include Senator Gustavo Rivera, Assembly Members Michael Benedetto, Marcos Crespo and Victor Pichardo, Council Members Ritchie Torres and Andy Cohen.

Since her election as Public Advocate, Ms. James has shown her commitment to the Bronx, its communities and its leaders. Two months ago, in an appearance before CB #10, she demonstrated a deep knowledge of the many issues confronting Community Board #10. After she spoke, she did not run off to other events. She stayed for the entire meeting sitting on the side with the public. She stayed to discuss issues with the public and Community Board member after the meeting ended. Among other events she has attended was the memorial to Officers Ramos and Liu at the 45th Precinct. She has made it one of her priorities to attend many events in The Bronx and to address issues.

This year’s Committee for Effective Leadership luncheon will be held Sunday, April 26 beginning at 12 Noon. It will be held at Villa Barone Ristorante located at 3289 Westchester Avenue. This year, the honorees are four distinguished leaders: Eunic Ortiz, Patrick Devine, Hon Joan Millman, and Hon. Joe McManus
