JOSE OCASIO & JOSEPH MURPHY Found guilty at trial in September 2014 of Attempted Assault 3 and Harassment 2, Ocasio and Murphy will be sentenced for the February 18th, 2011 assault of 17-year-old Tyre Davis. Both defendants got into a heated exchange with the teen whom Ocasio booked on a disorderly conduct summons.  The officers later followed Davis out of the precinct into an alley opposite 210 E. 181st Street, where they were caught on surveillance punching and kicking the teen, or giving the teen a “tune-up” as the assault is colloquially referred to.

Sentencing

HAROLD GRANT Grant pled guilty at trial earlier this month to Attempted Murder 2 and will be sentenced for the August 2012 shooting seriously injuring 9-yr-old Guillermo Delacruz Jr. The incident stemmed from an argument between Grant’s girlfriend, Roxanne Anico, and another woman, both of whom proceeded to retrieve their boyfriends to settle the score. Grant is accused of shooting wildly into a crowd on Walton Avenue, striking Delacruz Jr., an innocent bystander. Grant fled the jurisdiction but was later apprehended in Virginia in November of 2012.

YANNIEL VILATO Vilato is facing charges of Attempted Murder, Assault, and other related crimes for the September 13th, 2014 strangulation of the mother of his child, Sachy Almanzar–Munoz. The victim is currently unable to see and suffers from brain damage, but has regained the ability to breathe on her own.

Scott and Young are facing charges of Attempted Kidnapping 2 and several counts of Custodial Interference for the March 14, 2015 abduction of their infant son from a nursing facility in St. Barnabas Hospital. Scott and Young allegedly placed the newborn in a bag and attempted to exit the facility.

SUNIL POONAI Poonai is facing charges of Promoting Prison Contraband and several other assault crimes for the March 13th, 2015 stabbing of a fellow prisoner at a Rikers Island facility. Poonai is accused of demanding the victim’s sneakers before stabbing the victim in the back several times.

MATTHEW COLEMAN Coleman is facing charges of Murder 2 and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2 for the March 4th, 2015 death of Eusebio Mendez. Coleman, along with two other unapprehended accomplices, is accused of entering the victim’s Williamsbridge Road apartment, shooting the victim in the head, and removing some of his personal property before exiting the premises.

Crocker and Jacobs were engaged in a physical altercation before Crocker allegedly fatally stabbed the complainant in his chest.
