Vacca Unveils New Citizen Engagement Website and App, Countable

New York City Residents Will Now Have Easy Way to Learn about, and Weigh In On, Council Bills

NEW YORK, NY – On Thursday, April 30th, New York City Council Member James Vacca, Chair of Committee on Technology, will host a streaming, interactive press conference on Google to celebrate the live launch of the civic engagement app and website, Countable, for New York City residents. The website will be live at the time of the presser. Council Member Vacca will be joined by Bart Myers, CEO of Countable, other New York City Council Members, and interested good government groups.

Countable is a top app for quickly learning about legislation, and weighing in with lawmakers about it in just one click. Users around the country have generated well over 1.1 million emails to Capitol Hill, in less than a year since launch. New York City is one of the first local municipalities to receive this app’s capability. Starting April 30th, all New Yorkers will be able to sign up via e-mail or Facebook to browse legislation by trend or topic and submit their opinions to their City Council Member.
