The Bronx Chamber of Commerce and NYC Department of Small Business Services Hosted a Business Educational Workshop

On May 21st, the Bronx Chamber of Commerce and the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) hosted a workshop at the Hutchinson Metro Center.  SBS Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer discussed the SBS services to help small businesses, including the recently launched Small Business First initiative, a comprehensive plan to reduce the regulatory burden on small businesses in New York City.   Small business owners also learned about how SBS is streamlining licensing and permitting processes, as well as the many resources available to help them understand and comply with regulations.  NYC Business Solutions Center staff and The Bronx Chamber of Commerce staff met with attendees, and connected them to services including navigating government, business courses, financing assistance, minority and women-owned business enterprise (M/WBE) certification, and more.
