Bronx Democratic County Committee to March at Heritage of Pride Parade

Lewis BDCC Pride ParadeThe Bronx Democratic County Committee (BDCC) in Conjunction with New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli has announced that BDCC will be marching in the Heritage of Pride Parade this Sunday, June 28th.

The BDCC, which is led by Bronx Democratic County Leader Assemblyman Marcos A. Crespo, will be marching behind its banner with DiNapoli. They will be kicking off the parade in section 4, which includes first responders as well as the most prominent New York Elected Officials and political organizations.

Section 4 of the Heritage of Pride Parade will include groups of the following order:

FDNY
Gay Officers Action League
The New York City Council
Mayor Bill de Blasio
Public Advocate Leticia James
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman
Comptroller Tom DiNapoli

They will be followed by Governor Andrew Cuomo, Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal, NYC Councilman Corey Johnson and The Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC.

In past years the BDCC contingent has been led by leaders like Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., NYS Senator Gustavo Rivera, and Congressman Eliot Engel. This year the BDCC contingent will be led by Executive Director of BDCC, Anthony Perez, and Lewis Goldstein, Vice Chair of BDCC and its liaison for the LGBT community.

All Bronxites are encouraged to march and to show our solidarity for all regardless of sexual orientation, race, national background, gender or disability. The Bronx is the only New York State County Political organization to have a liaison for the LGBT community. The first LGBT liaison was appointed by former County Leader Jose Rivera, then by Speaker Carl Heastie. This emphasis on inclusion has continued under the present BDCC County Leader Assemblyman Marcos A. Crespo.

All who would like to march should arrive by 11:30 a.m. at Section 4 on 39th Street, between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue (enter from the west). For any questions please call the BDCC at 347-281-9759.
