In an email statement to New Yorkers, Mayor Bill de Blasio touted his administration’s progress in the fight against inequality as reason to celebrate The 4th of July. And he asked New Yorkers to share a holiday graphic depicting a fireworks celebration.
“As we take time on this holiday weekend to relax with friends, family, and fellow New Yorkers, our celebration is all the sweeter in light of the progress we’ve made together to combat inequality in our city.”
