New XM Café Opens At The Bronx Museum

After years of waiting, the Bronx Museum of the Arts will once again boast of a café offering coffee, salads, sandwiches, and pastries. Continuing the Bronx Museum’s commitment to engaging with the local community, the XM Café will be a valuable resource to the neighborhood, allowing Museum visitors and local residents the opportunity to use the café as a place to dine, meet with friends, enjoy Museum programming, and browse the galleries at their leisure, while supporting local businesses in the Bronx. The XM Café will open in the museum’s North Wing lobby.

In celebration of the café opening the Bronx Museum will offer the first  50 guests a free small coffee, cappuccino or espresso on Wednesday September 9, Thursday September 10 and Friday September 11. The Bronx Museum of the Arts is conveniently located at 1040 Grand Concourse (East 165th Street) in the Bronx, NY 10456.

The Museum is proud to partner on the café with Fountain House  who will engage locally sourced vendors and hire local Bronx residents through their nationally recognized employment program. Coffee is being provided by Morris Perk, a local Bronx based pop-up cafe company that has been supplying companies and organizations with freshly-brewed and locally-roasted coffee across the borough.

In response to community interest and further enhancing the Museum’s mission to make art accessible to the widest possible audience, the Museum will also expand its hours of operation to include Wednesdays from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Admission to the Museum’s galleries is free.
