The Bronx Chamber of Commerce and The Allerton International Merchants Association hosted a successful Back to School Clean Up Event on the Allerton Avenue Commercial Strip on Wednesday, September 2nd.  75 children received a free breakfast, school bags, school supplies, haircut coupons, and more.  Waste Management sponsored this neighborhood beautification project.   WB Mason provided the students with back to school supplies and book bags.  Elected officials NYS Senator Jeff Klein, NYS Senator Ruth Hassell Thompson, NYS Mark Gjonaj, NYC Councilman James Vacca, and NYC Councilman Ritchie Torres represent this commercial corridor and have been very supportive of the commercial revitalization efforts.

“We are grateful for the support and participation of the Allerton Avenue Merchants Association, our volunteers, elected officials, and community partners who have teamed up with the Bronx Chamber of Commerce to make this neighborhood cleaner and safer.  The chamber will continue our commercial revitalization efforts in this corridor.  Together, we will make a significant impact,” said Michelle Dolgow Cristofaro, Executive Director of The Bronx Chamber of Commerce.
