Indiegogo campaign brings the first portable and removable electric assist for bicycles, kickscooters, even bike share, along with an e-bike/e-scooter bundle

NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — What if one compact device could add electric power to everything you ride in seconds? ShareRoller today announced an Indiegogo campaign that will bring the world’s first removable and portable electric assist for bicycles, kickscooters and bike share system.

The company is also offering a bike and scooter bundle together with a ShareRoller device and all needed mounts for under $800.  The bike is a 27-spd Schwinn Sidewinder mountain bike with suspension fork, and the scooter is a Razor A5, one of the most popular adult kickscooters around. This bundle gives the customer both an e-bike and an e-scooter all in one simple package, making it the most cost-friendly e-bike/scooter option on the market.

Created by Jeff Guida, ShareRoller looks like a miniature high-tech briefcase. It weighs just 4.5 pounds and measures just 8 x 7 x 3 inches.  The product has a brushless DC motor that delivers 750 watts of continuous power and the ability to conquer any hill it encounters.

ShareRollerShareRoller attaches to a mounting bracket above the front wheel of the bike and has a Bluetooth-enabled wireless thumb throttle control that clips onto the handlebars. The motor assembly swings out of the case and into position on top of the front tire, and features a custom urethane drive belt to optimize power transfer to the bike.  When your ride is complete, ShareRoller can be removed and retracted within five seconds, so you can take it with you to avoid theft.

ShareRoller can achieve speeds of 20mph and nearly 30 miles of range without the need to pedal, while speeds of 28mph and distances of up to 55 miles are possible when the rider pedals along.  ShareRoller’s convenient quick-release lithium battery packs allow riders to carry spares for longer rides, and feature the same battery cells that Tesla uses for its Model S. All battery packs are controlled by a sophisticated Battery Management System, and the unique split-pack design enables even the largest capacity version to comply with strict FAA carry-on regulations for Lithium batteries, making ShareRoller the ultimate travel companion.

ShareRoller also has a built-in USB charging port that allows you to charge your smartphone, iPad or other electronic devices.

ShareRoller has been in development since early 2013 and has been thoroughly tested, improved, and refined.  The company is completing full certifications for the US and international markets in early 2016 and will offer comprehensive warranty coverage.

“With ShareRoller you can cruise up hills, power through headwinds, and sail with a tail wind without breaking a sweat, and without pedaling. ShareRoller transforms your wheels by turning every bike (or scooter) you ride into an e-bike with the option of pedaling as much or as little as you want with our variable throttle button, TailWind cruise control, and available pedelec sensor operation,” Guida said.

The crowdfunding campaign for ShareRoller has been launched on Indiegogo and has already surpassed its goal. The Indiegogo site contains detailed information on the latest model as well as the e-bike/scooter bundle, which will be in full production by May 2016. The MSRP is $649 for the ShareRoller with the mini battery set and less than $800 for the e-bike/scooter bundle.
