The Bronx Loses One of its Own – In memorial of Thomas J. Hefter Sr.

The Bronx loses one of its own

In memorial of Thomas J. Hefter Sr.

Thomas J. Hefter Sr. passed away December 10, 2015, with his children by his side.

Daddy

Son of Mary and Al born and raised in The Bronx where he raised his family.  He and Elizabeth were wonderful family oriented great parents who were proud of their closed knit loving family and all their achievements.

He was a pillar of the community as well as of St. Francis Xavier Church and Holy Name Society.  Tommy was an active member of the Morris Park Community Association and part of their community patrol, American Legion Post #19 and a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Mary Queen of Peace council #4521.

Not all superheroes where a cape, some wear a tool belt.  A role model not only for his children but all who he would instruct with the repair jobs he performed for family and friends alike. A man who will always lend a hand to help anyone from car repairs to home improvement.

An avid NY Yankees fan he shared his love for the team and baseball with his children and grandchildren.  Tommy enjoyed watching Yankee games from the stadium and at home with his family.

Tommy and Elizabeth are now reunited to watch over their family legacy with tremendous pride.

It was a dark day in metropolis when this superhero was laid to rest in Gate of Heaven cemetery.
