SBA Administrator Contreras-Sweet Visits City to Announce Additional Hurricane Sandy Assistance

WASHINGTON, DC — Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is visiting New York City today.

At an SBA disaster assistance office in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Contreras-Sweet will join Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (NY-7) to announce SBA available assistance to businesses and homeowners affected by Hurricane Sandy. She will highlight the most recent data on the impact this and other SBA assistance is having on the area.

Contreras-Sweet and Velázquez will announce the reopening of the SBA disaster assistance program and encourage entrepreneurs and homeowners throughout the City to apply for aid. Area business owners and others who previously received assistance or are applying will also speak.

New Yorkers that have an unmet financial need from Hurricane Sandy will now have until December 1, 2016 to apply for SBA disaster assistance.
