Saturday ‘Meet & Greet’ With Rev. J. Loren Russell, 2/13

J Loren RussellThis morning from 9:30 – 11:30, there will be a “Meet and Greet” Rev. Dr. J. Loren Russell,  a candidate for 17th City Council vacancy. The “Meet and Greet” will be held at the Greater Universal Baptist Church at 253 E. 153 Street (between Park and Morris Avenues), Bronx, NY 10451.
Residents, neighbors and voters are invited to join us for a Continental Breakfast and get to know Rev. J. Loren Russell and his ideas for responding gentrification, economic development, police-community relations and other issues.

 

 

In addition to Rev. J. Loren Russell, the other contenders in the 17th Council District are George Alvarez, Marlon Molina, Joann Otero, Julio Pabon, Rafael Salamanca, Jr. A special election to fill the vacancy was caused by the December 2015 resignation of former Councilwoman Maria del Carmen Arroyo.

 

The special election will be held on February 23, 2016. Polls open 6AM to 9PM.

 

The 17th District covers South Bronx neighborhoods including Hunts Point, Longwood, Melrose, Morrisania, Crotona Park, Mott Haven, Soundview, Tremont (part) and West Farms.
