NYC Votes Video Voter Guide: Marlon Molina | Bronxnet TV

FB_Marlon Molina_City CouncilMarlon Molina — Bronx Renewal

Mr. Molina is a former bank employee and member of Bronx Community Board 3 in Morrisania. Two years ago he co-founded the Bronx Volunteer Coalition to help match good samaritans with worthy causes.

He feels strongest about gun violence because when he was 19 his brother was shot and killed. He told the Mott Haven that if elected, he would fund programs targeting children’s attitude toward guns, and programs improving community relations with police.

As February 19, Mr. Molina had raised less than $10,000 and admitted that his campaign will not meet any of the NYC Campaign Finance Board’s qualifying thresholds for matching funds. He relied on social media, free media and door-to-door canvassing to get word of his campaign out to Council District 17 voters.

In this nonpartisan special election Mr. Molina will be running under the independent Bronx Renewal ballot line.
