In this nonpartisan special election Mr. Julio Pabon will be running on the independent Bronx Not For Sale ballot line on February 23. 

Citing gentrification and political corruption, Mr. Pabon casts himself as the anti-establishment candidate who will never selling out because” the Bronx isn’t for sale.”

If elected, Mr. Pabon says he will fight gentrification, economic inequality, political corruption, and fight for criminal justice reform and better public schools.

The 17th Council district includes the neighborhoods of Longwood, Hunts Point, Concourse, Concourse Village, Crotona Park, Melrose, Morrisania, Mott Haven, North Brother Island, Port Morris, and Soundview.
