HIV Provider – Bronx Clinic

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated HIV Physician (MD) to join our team in providing HIV and primary care services to a panel of diverse patients at our new Bronx Clinic. The HIV Provider is responsible for screening, diagnoses and treatment of Callen-Lorde patients and providing care in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner. The provider will make appropriate internal and external referrals and supervise a Nurse Practitioner. The provider is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards. All providers at Callen-Lorde function as part of a care-giving team.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position and requires weekly evening and occasional on call coverage. Salary will depend on experience and will be accompanied by an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short term & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, generous Paid Time Off, and optional 403B plans.

Qualifications

 New York State Certification/Licensure

 New York State Registration (MD)

 Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. HIVMA or AAHIVM certification strongly preferred

 Substantial experience in HIV primary care. (Minimum of 2 years) Experience in sexually transmitted infection screening, treatment, and education

 Experience in Sexual Health and in screening, treating & patient education in sexually transmitted infection within a harm reduction model of care preferred

 Experience in HIV primary care and the ability to work with some patients with dual HIV-mental health diagnoses. (Minimum of 2 years)

 DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate

 Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde and community based health care services

 Demonstrated knowledge of LGBT health related concerns and experience in providing medical care in LGBT communities

 Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

 Ability to work within team-based structure

 Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
