Assembly Speaker Heastie Meets Former NFL Greats Jim Kelly and Vinnie Testaverde

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie met with former NFL quarterbacks Jim Kelly and Vinny Testaverde.

The two former NFL pro quarterbacks were in the Capitol to lobby on behalf of daily fantasy sports legalization bills. AG Eric Schneiderman declared DFS betting illegal gambling and successfully enjoined FanDuel, DraftKings and other DFS sites from doing business in New York.

The New York State Senate and Assembly are both considering legislation on legalizing DFS, but have yet to pass final bills.

In eleven states, daily fantasy sports betting is legal.
