First Pitch To Be Thrown for Ram-Crusader Cup Game at Yankee Stadium

Holy Cross and Fordham Alumni, Fans and Supporters to Have Access to Special Ticket Offer

Ram-Crusader Cup-Yankee Stadium-logoToday it was announced that the College of Holy Cross Director of Athletics Nathan Pine and Fordham University Head Football Coach Andrew Breiner will throw out the ceremonial first pitches prior to Monday’s 7:05 p.m. Yankees-Blue Jays game at Yankee Stadium.

In addition, a special ticket offer with unique savings on select seats for Monday’s game is available for all Holy Cross and Fordham alumni, fans and supporters. “It is an honor to represent Holy Cross in throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium,” said Pine. “The Stadium has hosted some of the biggest milestones in sports history and I’m excited for our student-athletes and fans to have the opportunity to experience this iconic venue on November 12, 2016.”

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at such an iconic venue as Yankee Stadium,” said Breiner. “To represent Fordham in the vicinity of so many Fordham legendary football games, some of which included Vince Lombardi, is truly an honor.”

The 2016 Ram-Crusader Cup is scheduled to kick off at Yankee Stadium at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12. Tickets are currently on sale to the general public at Ram-Crusader Cup and Ticketmaster.

Ram-Crusader Cup_Vintage Game PhotoThe 31st Ram-Crusader Cup will be the first to take place at the current Yankee Stadium. The two schools previously met just once at the original venue, with Holy Cross defeating Fordham, 23-7, on November 10, 1923.

This year’s game will mark Fordham’s 22nd appearance in Yankee Stadium and first since 1946, having gone 12-8-1 at the prior venue. For Holy Cross, it will be their first appearance at Yankee Stadium since 1940, previously amassing a 2-0-1 record at the original location.
