No Garbage, Recycling, or Street Cleaning on Labor Day

The New York City Department of Sanitation announced yesterday that in observance of Labor Day, there will be no garbage, recycling or organics collection, nor street cleaning on Monday, September 5.

Residents who receive garbage and organics collections on Mondays should place their trash and organic materials curbside after 4 p.m. on September 5 for pickup. Those receiving recycling collection on Mondays should place their items curbside, after 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 11 for pickup the following day.

Additionally, administrative offices for the department will be closed in observance of the holiday.
