PBA of New York State Law Enforcement Announces Endorsements of NYC-based Legislature Candidates

The Police Benevolent Association of New York State Law Enforcement (PBA of NYS) today announced endorsements of NYC-based candidates running in New York state legislative races.

In Senate races, the PBA of NYS endorses Sen. Michael Gianaris, D-Astoria, 12th Senate District; Sen. Martin Golden, R-Brooklyn, 22nd Senate District; Sen. Brad Hoylman, D-Manhattan, 27th Senate District; Sen. Jeff Klein, Independent Democratic Conference Leader, D-Bronx, 34th Senate District; Sen. Diane Savino, D-Staten Island, 23rd Senate District; and Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky, D-Flushing, 16th Senate District

In Assembly races, the PBA of NYS endorses; Assemblyman Peter Abbate, D-Brooklyn, 49th Assembly District; Brian Barnwell, Democrat, 30th Assembly District; Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz, D-Brooklyn, 45th Assembly District; Assemblyman Herman “Denny” Farrell, D-Manhattan, 71st Assembly District; Assemblyman Pamela Harris, D-Brooklyn, 46th Assembly District; Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, D-Bronx, 83rd Assembly District; Assemblyman Victor Pichardo, D-Bronx, 86th Assembly District; Assemblyman Robert Rodriguez, D-Manhattan, 68th Assembly District; and Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda, D-Bronx, 87th Assembly District

The PBA of NYS Law Enforcement represents New York State University Police, the New York State Environmental Conservation Police, the New York State Park Police, and the New York State Forest Rangers.

Candidates are selected through a process that includes face-to-face interviews, questionnaires and an evaluation of voting records, bill sponsorship and general support on issues deemed important to PBA of NYS members.

The PBA of New York State is the exclusive bargaining agent for the New York State University (SUNY) Police, the New York State Environmental Conservation Police, the New York State Park Police, and the New York State Forest Rangers. Our members police and protect New York State’s public universities and colleges; state parks and historic sites; and they enforce state laws and protect our lands and forests and ensure environmental safety and quality throughout the state.
